Air Force Blog Assessment (via jeremiah_owyang) thanks to pfmassey over at e-mint
I think it’s awesome that my parents are visible in the photo of their house taken by the google truck.
I’ve been meaning to share the incredible experiences I had at the entertainment gathering (the eg) last weekend. I keep trying to process what I witnessed and I can tell I’m not even close yet.
It was like going to camp with my intellectual heroes and getting to tag along while they showed each other their latest creations, pet projects and daily rituals. At a circus.
On the first day, I was blown away by an illustrator, David Maculay, who talked about his process and specifically when he was learning to draw the human body. A lot of the slides showed how he drew some of the body’s systems as if they were made of parts from the hardware store. It was really entertaining and it made me wonder (again) why school wasn’t designed to be this fun. It should be!
Speaking of schools, Nicholas Negroponte presented an update to his One Laptop per Child (OLPC) project; that was inspiring! Uruguay is already at 50% and they’ve confirmed they will be at 100% soon. I was astounded. Can you believe it? It’s so easy to get caught up in the negativity we hear but there are some majorly beautiful changes happening right now.
I’m so excited about the future and the amount of stuff we’re going to be able to do! And that’s just two examples of maybe 50 different people that I’ve been able to vibe off of.
I’ll have to write blog posts for awhile just to get it all out of my system. Does this effectively transmit the energy over the screen?
I’ll to try to score some pictures and videos to post. I have to get back to work - I just had to let some of this out first!
